operations a day

Open and close your electric fence gateway remotely without leaving your vehicle. UpGate® lifts electrified bungy cords overhead so vehicles and cattle can use the same opening.
Stopping the tractor, stepping down, opening the electric fence, driving through, then doing it again, all before you get back to the job.
UpGate is a patented, solar-powered automated farm gate built for dairy and cattle farms. It lifts the electrified bungy cords overhead, and stays open while the job moves through. Press the remote again, and it closes behind you.

Based on ControlAg’s trial programme, one minute saved per operation, and labour calculated at $60 per hour. Actual results depend on farm use.
Match the UpGate setup to the power available, vehicles using the opening, and cattle movement through the gateway.

Put the motor, battery and solar panel at the gateway without trenching mains power.

The motor, battery, solar panel, controls and lifting track sit together on the post. The system connects to your existing electric fence so the cords are live while closed.
Use Standard for everyday farm access or Large for tractors and taller machinery. Confirm the final clearance against cord count, sag, mounting height and ground level.

Check operation, clearance, remotes, installation and warranty before changing the gateway.
Read every UpGate answerA cattle grid serves vehicles, while cattle still need a separate gate. UpGate lets vehicles and cattle use the same gateway, and two units can create a 15 metre opening for $5,800 excluding GST.
Solar swing gates need room to sweep and suit farm entrances. UpGate lifts cords overhead, suits internal cattle gateways, and stays open until you close it.
One 8-button remote can activate unlimited UpGates, and each unit stores up to 32 remotes. The stated remote range is up to 100 metres.
The runner wheels sit inside the track with clearance around them. A dairy-farm unit completed 2,000 operations over more than 18 months without jamming.
A DC electric motor drives a timing belt in one continuous loop. A solar panel and battery power it, and a handheld remote activates it. It connects to your existing electric fence system, which electrifies the bungy cords when the gateway is closed.

A typical installation takes 45 to 60 minutes per UpGate when the posts and gateway meet the manual requirements. The unit needs suitable posts, 4 to 6 hours of sun each day, and a compliant electric fence connection.
