Can cattle and vehicles use the same opening?
Yes. With the cords raised, the opening is clear for vehicles or stock. Close the gateway with the remote after the last animal or vehicle has passed.

A cattle gateway needs to hold stock when closed and clear the full opening when the mob moves. UpGate® lifts electrified bungy cords overhead and stays open until you close it.

UpGate is designed for cattle farms using electric fences. A single-sided system lifts from one post. Two UpGates can work from opposite sides for a wider opening, with each unit controlled independently.

Step 1
The blue handle connects the bungy cord to the existing electric fence. On a double-sided system, only one side connects to the fence supply.

Step 2
The gateway does not close on a timer. Leave the cords raised while cattle move, then close with the remote after the opening is clear.

Step 3
Closed cord heights can be adjusted, and the supplied yellow flag marks the highest cord so approaching drivers can see it.

Based on ControlAg’s trial programme, one minute saved per operation, and labour calculated at $60 per hour. Actual results depend on farm use.
Read the current UpGate manual before installation and operation. Site conditions, electric-fence compliance, vehicle clearance and weather all matter.
Download the manualYes. With the cords raised, the opening is clear for vehicles or stock. Close the gateway with the remote after the last animal or vehicle has passed.
No. Each UpGate operates independently and uses its assigned remote button, so the operator controls both units separately.
The product range includes 7 m and 10 m bungy kits. Gateway suitability depends on the chosen single or double layout, posts, cord sag and site conditions.
Send the opening width, post photos and the largest machine. ControlAg will help map the setup.
