Cattle behind an electrified automated gateway

Automated farm gates in Queensland

On a big cattle property the gateways are wide, the distances are long, and mains power is nowhere near the fence line. That is exactly where a solar gateway earns its keep.

UpGate installed on a working Australian farm

ControlAg builds UpGate for working farm gateways.

UpGate is a patented, solar-powered automated farm gate that lifts electrified bungy cords overhead. Farmers operate it from up to 100 metres away and use the same opening for vehicles and cattle.

How wide can the gateway be?

Two UpGates give you a 15 metre wide automated gateway for $5,800 excluding GST. You widen the opening with a longer bungy cord instead of a bigger steel gate.

Compare that with two or three cattle grids side by side, which can push the installed cost past $20,000.

No power at the gateway?

The unit runs on its own solar panel and battery, mounted up high out of reach of stock. There is no cable to trench and no switchboard work.

Easy DIY installation. UpGate attaches with coach screws to your posts and connects to your existing electric fence system.
